This week on The WAM Podcast’s edition of “Riveting Exchanges,” hosts, Andrea Olson and Desiree Grace, continue with their “Bad Boss” discussion. The ladies look at the four different types of “weak” personalities. Here, you’ll meet the four archetypal passive-aggressive bosses: Indecisive Ike, Steady Eddie, Insecure Ida, and Absentee Al.
Indecisive Ike is the indecisive enemy of change, the classic “paralysis by analysis” boss. Steady Eddie is the type of boss that is downright resistant to change. Insecure Ida has low self-esteem and needs constant affirmation, and Absentee Al is barely present, rarely responding to his employees’ needs.
These characteristics in a boss can be phenomenally frustrating, especially when you as an employee are trying to progress and implement change within your company. If you’re facing one or more of these bosses, by the end of this episode, you’ll have a set of mental, emotional, and practical tips on how to tactfully manage them. With these tools, you may even start to view these “bad bosses” as a positive opportunity for growth.
