National Association of Manufacturers Kicks Off State Of Manufacturing Tour

It’s no secret that the manufacturing sector is open for business and that there are nearly 500,000 jobs waiting to be filled. In an effort to spread the word, The National Association of Manufacturers is hitting the road on their State of Manufacturing Tour, visiting 25 cities across the country to let everyone know that a career in manufacturing is both rewarding and pays well.

The tour, which launched February 19th in Denver, Colorado will visit 25 cities in eight states, bringing the message that manufacturing careers available today are modern, high-tech, creative and highly rewarding. The current environment in the manufacturing sector combined with a very “pro-manufacturing” government, the time is right for those who perhaps would not have considered a career in manufacturing to take a look at what manufacturing has to offer. Jay Timmons, CEO of NAM said, “We have federal policies that align with the success of this sector and manufacturers are keeping their promise to hire more employees and provide good paying jobs and benefits.” Timmons was recently named to the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board also noted that “Last year was the best year for manufacturing job creation in more than two decades,” and that “New facilities are opening across the country.”

The explosive growth in the manufacturing sector and a steady stream of new manufacturing facilities opening across the country signal that manufacturing is back for the duration and will play a big part in the growth and development of industries such as self-driving cars, artificial intelligence, agriculture, aerospace and transportation.

The tour, which has stops in Colorado, Texas, Iowa, North Carolina, Minnesota, Ohio, California and Arizona will visit manufacturers including Ball Aerospace, Anheuser-Busch, Honda and Polaris.
