The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) is an incredible entity that has been helping manufacturers realize more than $3.4 billion in value since 2000. NJMEP hosts events around the state and offers programs and services in Operational Excellence, Workforce Development, and Innovation & Growth.
NJMEP has some new events and programs lined up over the next few months. Below we will be offering a breakdown of what you can expect from this impressive organization and information on how to get involved.
Hill Day with NJMEP
The first week of March is Hill Day where NJMEP will be visiting DC and meeting with Senators and Congressmen/Congresswomen. Anytime representatives from the manufacturing industry have the opportunity to speak with public officials, it’s a chance to show them what the industry needs to survive and flourish. Being able to meet and speak with public officials that will be in charge of regulating and developing the manufacturing here in New Jersey offers keen insight into the future of the industry.
State-of-the-State New Jersey Manufacturing
Later that month on March 29th and March 31st, NJMEP will be hosting a State-of-the-State New Jersey Manufacturing Event with NJBIA, CIANJ and MCCC. The event on March 29th will take place at the NJSM Auditorium in Trenton, NJ and the event on March 31st will be held at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, NJ. The goal is to begin and sustain positive communications regarding our most critical sector. The event brings together senior manufacturing executives that are interested in learning more about the opportunities and challenges that exist in the sector. Senior Executives will have the opportunity to listen to industry experts discuss Workforce Development, Taxation and Fees, and Environment/Energy.
Several elected state officials will be in attendance. Please make sure to invite your Senator and Assembly Members. Senior Manufacturing Executives and elected state officials can register at NJMEP.org.
Open Enrollment Workshops
In another exciting announcement, NJMEP will now be offering open enrollment classes. Focused on firms that have a difficult time supporting a large-scale, on-site training initiative, or those unable to fulfill the requirements of a Customized Training Grant (NJDOL), but still need to elevate the skills, knowledge or to acquire certifications for employees, NJMEP is here to help. Popular courses will now be available to all.
NJMEP will be conducting the courses in their new Training facility at their Cedar Knolls headquarters. Breakfast and lunch services will also be provided. The first set of classes are listed below:
